Privacy

EC Pong is built to collect as little as possible. In plain terms:

• No cookies, no Google Analytics. We don't set tracking cookies and don't load any advertising or third-party trackers.
• Vercel Analytics counts page views in a cookieless, aggregate way. Before a page view is sent, the URL is stripped to keep only utm_* campaign parameters — anything else in the address is dropped.
• Games-smashed counter: a single global number that goes up by one when a game finishes. Nothing about you is stored with it.
• Abuse protection: to stop the counter and lookups being spammed, we rate-limit requests using a short-lived, salted hash of your IP address. The raw IP is never stored, and the hash expires within minutes and isn't linked to anything else.
• Grant-number lookup: when you enter a grant agreement number, our server fetches the public project data from CORDIS on your behalf, so your browser never contacts CORDIS directly. We don't store the numbers you enter.
• Hosting: the site runs on Vercel, with server functions in the EU (Frankfurt, fra1).
